YOUR HOSTS, AUDREY AND GABRIEL

The concept

Le Floriel is a story of passion for design, hospitality, and the appreciation of the country's culture and nature. After 2 years of dreaming, planning, and renovating, Audrey and Gabriel are happy to welcome you to their small colourful hotel.

"When planning our hotel, it was clear to us that we wanted to tell a story that could also touch the imagination and leave our guests with vivid memories of the area.

Our goal was to offer our guests a unique experience; each room revealing an expression of the natural and cultural environment of the region, expressing the beauty of the Quebec seasons. We are happy to welcome you to our spaces and hope you can enjoy beautiful moments of discovery and relaxation here at Le Floriel."

Vacation stay and sample space

In addition to its hotel vocation, the Floriel promotes works of art, furniture and decorative accessories, gourmet and artisanal products by collaborating primarily with local manufacturers, retailers, artists and craftsmen. Guests will be able to try out products during their stay and will have the opportunity to purchase them on site or later online.

The theme

To escape, to dream, to live a unique experience that takes us out of everyday life. This is what we hope for from a vacation. This is also the principle that drives the creative choices in the design and realization of the Floriel. Le Floriel is a place that tells stories inspired by the natural world, at colours of the region, but which have a universal scope.

The creative brief for the overall concept and the colour and design directions were created by Josette Buisson, owner of the colour marketing agency Alias Color, and the lifestyle website Venue and Menu. Specializing in research for the architectural and design market for major manufacturers and retailers for the past 20 years, Alias Color has produced numerous reports and marketing programs based on the study of consumer behaviour insights. In 2020, Gabriel recruited his mother, Josette, and asked her to put her knowledge of colour and design into a more personal project. Together with his life and business partner Audrey, they want to create a small boutique hotel inspired by Josette's research on how colour and design connect to people's wellness needs on a personal level. The project is part of a design approach that values longevity and respects architectural legacy. The hotel's theme is rooted in local culture and the rhythm of the seasons, creating a place that embraces both tradition and modernity.

The reconstructed past

The original building was built to house the Presbytery of Ste- Flore.

Like many others of that era, the building at the time of purchase in 2020 had suffered the ravages of time and renovations that had significantly altered its appearance and integrity.

The acquisition of the building, to make it a small hotel, was done with the concern of giving back to the building its original architectural heritage value while giving it a particular charm that would fit in the historical village of Ste-Flore.
